Hymns Of Assurance

I am always left in great amazement when I sing or read the great hymns of the faith. They have stood the test of time, not like our modern day contemporary choruses that seem to have a new bunch written each week. There are two songs written by Civilla D. Martin which are, "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" and "God Will Take Care Of You" that have caught my eye of late. They both seem to have been inspired by an older lady living and suffering in the poor house in the early 1900s. The one which has caught my eye the most goes like this; "Be not dismayed what-e'er betide God will take care of you. Beneath His wings of love abide God will take care of you." These two lines alone are enough to rest all our weight upon during a time of great difficulty. The song goes on to say, "No matter what may be the test, God will take care of you; lean, weary one, upon His breast, God will take care of you." What a place to hide 'under His wings' and 'leaned upon His breast' in a time of testing. Civilla ends the song with these words, 'God will take care of you, through every day, over all the way; He will take care of you, God will take care of you'. He speaks with great assurance of not the possibility but the confidence that God will take care of us. Let us lean all our weight on this promise during these days.

Prayer For A Friend

Please pray for our friend Brother Keith Purser. He has suffered a series of strokes and is at present in the hospital. He and Brenda have no insurance so they need your prayers. Brother Keith is a great man of God and has served the Lord faithfully. Please pray for them during this trying time.

15 And Counting

As you can see by the pictures below the Lord has blessed our family with three new babies. Our last News Letter showed our precious Asher Adeeb born to Joe and Sabrina in September. David Thomas followed soon after in October. That makes 7 for Chuck and Julie. Then in January John and Ali welcomed Emmie Lou to their family. We are so blessed with these precious children.
